VOLUNTEER DURING BALLOON FIESTA!

Welcome the world to the Balloon Museum during
Albuquerque's Most Iconic Annual Event

For nine magical days each year, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta® draws tens of thousands of visitors to experience the beauty our city has to offer. If you would like to help share all that is good about Albuquerque and ballooning, volunteer at the Balloon Museum during Fiesta, lifting hearts and spirits as we open our doors to visitors from around the world.

Balloon Museum Foundation Volunteers will receive the following:

Parking Pass to park at the Balloon Museum during your shifts

2025 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta General Admission Ticket

All Volunteers who sign up for shifts at the Balloon Museum during Fiesta (both experienced and new) are required to attend Training.

What Volunteer Opportunities are Available?

OBSERVATION DECK GREETER

As an Observation Deck Event Greeter, you’ll be the welcoming face of our Foundation dining events at the Balloon Museum. With a warm smile and friendly energy, you’ll check in ticketed guests at the Foundation Event Table in the Welcome Booth outside the museum and direct them upstairs to the dining area. Once guests are settled, you may also walk through the museum to help keep the space tidy and inviting. This role is both social and service-oriented — perfect for volunteers who enjoy making guests feel at home while helping create a smooth, high-quality event experience. The position requires standing for 2-3 hours, can be very fast-paced, is outdoors in cold or hot temperatures, and may encounter frustrated or impatient guests.

OBSERVATION DECK DINING ROOM SUPPORT

During each session of Balloon Fiesta, the Balloon Museum Foundation hosts fundraising dining events on the museum’s upper Observation Deck, offering guests a VIP viewing experience. As a Dining Room Support volunteer, you’ll play an important role in making these events smooth and enjoyable. You’ll help with room set-up, warmly welcome guests, and assist them throughout the evening — whether that’s finding a seat, offering directions, or tracking down a cup of hot tea. During the event, you’ll help keep the space tidy and inviting, and afterward, you’ll assist staff in preparing the room for the next dining session. This role combines hospitality, teamwork, and behind-the-scenes support to create an unforgettable guest experience.

GIFT SHOPPE SUPPORT

The Museum Shoppe is a lively hub during Balloon Fiesta, and volunteers are essential in creating a smooth, enjoyable shopping experience for guests. As a Shoppe Volunteer, you’ll assist with bagging and wrapping purchases, stocking merchandise, and keeping the space clean and organized. You’ll also help monitor doors and engage with customers — offering a warm welcome, answering questions, and visiting with them to make their experience memorable. This role involves light labor and being on your feet, but it’s a fun, interactive opportunity to connect with guests while supporting the Balloon Museum Foundation.

COURTESY SHUTTLE DRIVER

During each session of Balloon Fiesta, the Balloon Museum Foundation hosts fundraising dining events on the museum’s upper Observation Deck, offering guests a VIP viewing experience. Shuttle Cart Drivers play an important role in that experience by providing friendly, reliable round-trip golf cart transportation between the museum entrance and the Balloon Fiesta entrance. This role is ideal for volunteers who enjoy meeting people, offering great service, and being part of the action — all while helping guests arrive with ease and comfort.
